30/5/2026 The Fourth “Winter Pools” Match Report.

The Fourth match was booked on Solhampton Jackdaw Pool last September, some of the Guys had had a practice but on the day we were “jocked off” onto Dragonfly with the pegs suggested by the owner, eight turned out.

Next we were informed that the management don’t weigh you in anymore although the website implies they prefer to weigh you in.  

Result

Stephen Bedford 112-3-0.

Marcus Coles 71-6-0.

H Potter 44-11-0.

Match Summary - Chaotic;-  

The pool turned out to be a poor match venue with 6 fishing in the main pool & 2 pegged in two separate lagoons, first & second came from these lagoons. The winner caught on bread punch & Corn skins, second also caught on corn.

In the main pool, Carp were cruising all day, few bites down, wouldn’t feed shallow & refusing to be mugged although H. & Jan did well in the main pool.

I think we all agreed this was not a reasonable match venue although this was a great result for Marcus in his first season as a senior. Thanks to Pete & Andy for weighing in. Great venue but I don’t think we will be back.
