25/4/2026 The Third “Winter Pools” Match Report.

The third match in the five match series was held on at Tunnel Barn Farm on Top Pool. We had the bowl pegs 1 – 5 & the left side pegs 20 – 33. The match saw Summer return with temperatures around 24 deg. C & no wind. With ten out we had the best pegs avoiding the high bank.

Glen Beaven 99-2-0 from Peg 22.

Frank Bagley 58-4-0 from Peg 1.

Stephen Bedford 52-6-0 from Peg 20.

Match Summary;-  

A superb match, everyone was on fish & we weighed in over 450lb of Carp. Glen won convincingly catching over shotted down the margin on Maggot. There were fish everywhere on peg 1, Frank caught into the scummy right corner on banded pellet, with fish cruising around all day. Mainly stockies but bigger fish in the last hour. Stephen next to the winner also caught down the margin. A superb summer match.

Special mention to Peter for weighing in the entire pool with big weights on a very hot day.
